So I decided to enter DBjet's Bones contest after all. I wasn't sure about it at first, but... meh... What the heck... ;)
The assignment was to design some bone-based armor and/or weapons for the Pokémon Marowak. So this, rather tribal-looking Marowak has a weapon more suited for hacking and slashing, rather than wacking. The traditional bone club has been completely wrapped with leather straps for support. The blades of one very unfortunate Scyther have been strapped along the length of the club. There are also some Espeon gems attached on either side of the weapon. They are used to create psychic barriers, such as Light Screen or Reflect, with which this Marowak can defend itself. The gems also create pretty pink light tracks in the air, when Marowak swings his weapon.
Additionally, he has a shoulder guard made of the menacing top half of a Houndoom's skull. He's right-handed, so that's why the shoulder guard has to be on the left shoulder (shoulder guards tend to limit the freedom of movement to some degree, so sometimes it's better not to have one on your dominant side).

This particular Marowak is rather like one of those honor-bound samurai. He doesn't fight using dirty tricks; he just fights using all of his might, straight-up, one-on-one or one-against-many.

Oh, and I used the following tutorial to create the abstract background.
I scaled this picture down. You can find the full sized one here.
