August 15th, 2010 Photoshop and drawingtablet The concept behind Iron-Zing's Combusken character, Chocobo, is rather interesting. It's a "mature" Combusken, meaning that if you don't rush your Combusken to evolve into a Blaziken, like most trainers do, it would grow up to be something like this. I've been meaning to draw it for a while now, and with Zing's birthday being tomorrow I finally have the right excuse to do it. At first I was going to draw him in my normal style for Combusken (the one I used to draw Solly with Aiko), but then I decided to make Chocobo more dinosaurish/birdish instead. Just as an experiment. Something about the proportions are nagging at me, but it still turned out nice, I think. Reference.
