Lol. Ok, I guess this one requires a little explanation, for those of you who don't know about Egyptian mythology. Anubis, the jackal-headed god, was the deity associated with mummification and the afterlife. The ancient Egyptians believed that after death, Anubis would lead the deceased through the afterlife, give them a guided tour of the place, if you will. Then Anubis would take the heart of that person, which, if that person had been properly mummified, was put in a canopic jar, and he would weigh it against the Feather of Truth (Ma'at).
The heart was thought to be the place where the soul resided. Anyway, if the heart was found to be heavy from all the wrongdoings committed by that person, the heart was fed to a demon called Ammit (also spelled as Ammut, Ammet, Amam, Amemet and Ahemait). Ammit had the head of a crocodile, the front part of a lioness and the hindquarters of a hippo. She is also known as 'Devourer', 'Bone Eater', 'Eater of hearts' and 'Swallower'.

Anyway, if the heart passes the test, the deceased person gets to go to the afterlife and live happily ever after. Whatever the outcome of the test is, it gets recorded by Toth, the Ibis-headed god of the scribes. Of course, as time passes, even a god may want to upgrade his tools every now and then. :)

On to the art then, This is another botched attempt at drawing lineless art. I'll admit that it isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it's also not as good as I had hoped it would be. But oh well, someone once said that a good artist experiments a lot. We'll just call this one another experiment of mine... Oh, and I also managed to mess up the anatomy here and there. Heh, whoops! ^__^

This picture is also my entry for KiyaraSabel's Anubis Contest, the last contest I'll enter for a while. And now it's time for some credits:
