Requestlist (in no particular order) There are six slots in the requestlist. Yes, ONLY SIX. If they're full, that means you'll have to wait with requesting, until a slot opens up. I'll announce it on the frontpage when this happens. The tutorials for the following Pokémon have been requested so far: 1. CLOSED 2. CLOSED 3. CLOSED 4. CLOSED 5. CLOSED 6. CLOSED About the Pokémon tutorials The Pokémon tutorials are about, well, drawing Pokémon. That's it, really... Actually, there is a little bit more to it than just that. The Pokémon tutorials are ment to show you something of as many aspects of drawing Pokémon as I could think of. That's why each individual tutorial contains at least four pages, called: Bio & linedrawing, Colorscheme, Poses and Exhibitionpiece. You can navigate through these pages, using the links-bar on each page. This bar is always located directly below the tutorial's banner. The first three pages, are about drawing Pokémon in the official style and the last page shows you how I draw them in my own style. In the tutorial overview page the Pokémon tutorials will be listed according to their National Pokédexnumber; so NOT in the chronological order, in which I made them. I think this makes the tutorials easier to navigate through. Hover your cursor over the thumbnails to see the Pokémon's number and name. Bio & linedrawing The first page of any Pokémon tutorial contains the data of the Pokémon, such as its English and Japanese names, its height and weight, its type, its category, etc. It also shows the D/P sprites of that particular Pokémon and points out any differences there may be between males and females. Please keep in mind that the field 'Habitat' can only be awnsered for Pokémon from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation. The GBA-games had some info on habitats in the Pokédex, but that information can't be found in the 4th generation Pokédex. So all 4th generation Pokémon will get the awnser 'Unkown' for that field. Below the bio, you'll find a picture showing you how to draw the Pokémon in about five or six steps. Just follow the steps, and any instructions you may read below the image, to draw an official looking Pokémon. Colorscheme The second page contains information about the Pokémon's colorscheme. First you'll see a picture with both a regular and a shiny version of that particular Pokémon. The picture also contains samples of the colors you need to color the creatures. I sampled these colors directly from the D/P sprites. Below the image you'll find a standard introductionary text, offering a .tif-file version of the image, for you to download. Tif-files preserve colors better than .jpg-files, so you can use it to sample extremely accurate colors from (if that's the sort of thing that concerns you). All the .tif-files on offer are about 2 MB in size. Finally you'll see a short text, which offers some tips and tricks for coloring this specific Pokémon. Poses The third page is only ment to show you some random poses (usually about 4 or 5) of the Pokémon. These pictures of the poses are still supposed to be as official looking as possible, but I have been known to mix a little of my own style in there. So uhm... bear with me. Also, drawing the poses is a real pain, so I tend to draw them a bit faster and less carefully than I usually draw. You'll probably barely notice it in most cases, but it's the only way I can make these things relatively fast and without losing my mind. :P Exhibitionpiece This is the fourth and usually the last page in every Pokémon tutorial. It contains a picture of the Pokémon in my own style. That's just my way of showing off a little. ;) These pictures will also be linked to from the Pokémon gallery (here they will be listed in the chronological order, in which they were made; confusing isn't it?). The exhibitionpieces are ment to show you the differences between the official style and my own style. Specials Every now and then, when I get a request for a Pokémon tutorial, the requestee will have a special question like: 'how can I make this Pokémon look cute?' or 'how do I draw its feathers?'. These questions will be dealt with in an additional page in the tutorial: the Special. In the links-bar, the special is located between 'Poses' and the 'Exhibitionpiece'. Specials will be drawn in my own style and can sometimes vary greatly in size. Each special comes with a small navigation table in the topright of the page, which helps you to quickly move to any section of the special. Specials are even more work than normal tutorials, but I'm happy to make them. Just keep in mind that I won't do double work. For instance, I won't do a special on the feathers of Swellow, since there already is a special on feathers in Pidgeot's tutorial. So please check if the special you want doesn't already exist. And if it doesn't exist, please formulate your question very carefully, so that I won't misunderstand it and make you a totally different special. Requesting tutorials If you want to request a picture with a single Pokémon in it, and if I haven't done a tutorial for that Pokémon yet, you could request a tutorial for it. Each tutorial comes with an exhibitionpiece in my own style, so you'll still get what you wanted. ;) There are however a few things I'd like you to keep in mind when you request a Pokémon tutorial. 1. Please make sure that the tutorial you want to request hasn't already been made, and that it hasn't already been requested either. You can find the current requestlist at the top of this page. You can also request a special, if you have a particular question. 2. Please be patient. I'm a busy person, but I will make the tutorial you asked for. It might take a few months (if not more), though. So please don't e-mail me about it. 3. Request your tutorial using the chatbox or by e-mailing me (unless of course you happen to know me in person, then you can just ask me). I don't always keep taps on the various forums I'm a member of, so I might miss your request if you post it there. If I received your request, you'll be added to the requestlist above, but only if I have an open slot. 4. You may request several tutorials at once, but please don't go overboard. Requesting tutorials for your entire team, is pushing it a bit. ;) And there are other people who want to request as well. SO NO BEING GREEDY! 5. I reserve the right to make the tutorials in any order I see fit. I will usually make the tutorials in the chronological order they were ordered in, but I might deviate a little on occasion. Just so you know... 6. I make these tutorials for free. In fact, everything on this site is free. But nothing says 'thank you, I really appreciate it', like shoving a nice rare Pokémon my way on the WiFi. I don't have anything good to trade back to you though, so it would be a gift. 7. Sometimes I'll also add tutorials, which weren't requested at all, simply because I felt like it. :) 8 Absolutely crucial: Please do NOT request tutorials if I've said I'm not taking more requests. You can find the request-status at the top of this page. If I get swamped with requests, I get depressed and I'll lose my motivation to work on them... Sometimes I'll halt requests, even when I do have open slots. I have other things to do as well, you know. ^_^ Terms of use The Pokémon tutorials are free for anyone to use. You may also download the images and even the entire webpage to your own computer for you own personal use. I don't mind at all, because that's why I made these tutorials in the first place. You may also publish these tutorials on your own website, if you like, but it might be a good idea if you e-mailed me about this first. It's not that I want to keep taps on who uses my work, but I do like to see what other people think of the pictures. And I might also be able to help you sort out any html-issues you may encounter. There are however, also a few things I'd rather not see you do with my tutorials. Please, do not claim you made them yourself. You did not. And you know it. I provide these tutorials for free, so I think I deserve at least some credit for them. Making changes to the pictures in the tutorials, still doesn't make them yours. They're still mine, so please at least have the common decency to give me credit for my work. Of course, this doesn't mean you're not allowed the make changes in the pictures at all. For instance, if you want to modify a picture from the tutorials to become a banner for a forum, feel free to go right ahead! You also don't need to e-mail me about this and you don't need to link to me. Just say something like: 'Banner designed by (YOUR NAME), original picture by Neko from www.blue-uncia.nl'. Something like that. Naming the link is optional, but it would be nice. Feed-back Did you find these tutorials helpful? I simply love a little feed-back every now and then. It helps to stroke my rather undevelopped ego a little. Heheh... So if you have anything to say about the tutorials, or if you used them to make a picture of a featured Pokémon, feel free to share it with me. It may just appear on the website (if you are ok with it). Disclaimer The rights to Pokémon and all its characters belong to Nintendo / Game Freak. I do not claim them, nor do I presume to know the exact official way to draw Pokémon. There probably is no such thing as the official way to draw Pokémon, as the way these creatures are drawn often changes in the anime itself as well. I just want to provide fans with tutorials, so they can learn how to draw Pokémon more easily. Most of the information in the Pokémon Bio's, came from http://www.Serebii.net, except for the information about the size and weight of Pokémon in the metric system. I used an online unit-converter, to calculate the Pokémon's weights and sizes in kilograms and meters respectively. And finally, I'd like to add that the D/P sprites used in the tutorials, came from http://www.pokemonelite2000.com. Back to the tutorials | ||||||||
